Command Staff Leadership Series(CSLS)

Texas Police Chiefs have overwhelmingly indicated that they want their command staff to have the exact same training they received in their Texas Police Chiefs Leadership Series. The Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) has met that request by offering the Command Staff Leadership Series (CSLS).

As a Texas Police Chief, your command staff is eligible to attend the CSLS.  Please send your registration form in as soon as possible as seating for each program is limited. Lodging, breakfast, and lunch will be provided by LEMIT. Travel and dinner will be reimbursed by LEMIT upon completion of the course.

The CSLS will consist of a 40-hour curriculum very similar to the Texas Police Chief Leadership Series: Leadership & Management (8 hours), Ethics (8 hours), Legal Update (8 hours), Homeland Security: Domestic & Foreign Suicide Bombers (4 hours), Spiritual Leadership & Visioning (4 hours), & When You Can't Say Yes: Using Redirective Language (4 hours).

Due to limited availability, only one officer per agency is allowed to attend each program and, as chief, we are requesting that you select that officer. Please complete a registration form for the CSLS and submit it by mail or fax to the Institute. In submitting the registration form, space permitting, your officer will be registered for the Command Staff Leadership Series and will, in turn, be mailed a confirmation letter. Please note that the CSLS classes fill quite rapidly but we will make every effort to grant your request.

Currently, the remaining CSLS programs for the year are full:

March 17-21, 2008 FULL; May 19-23, 2008 FULL; August 25-29, 2008 FULL

New dates will be released in August 2008. Please keep checking back!
