Enforcement Management Institute of Texas ITALY April 4th-16th, 2008 The "homebase" of this exchange program is Ivrea, Italy. Ivrea is located in Northwestern Italy and was founded in 100BC as a calvary station for the Roman Empire. The location was selected for it's strategic locale near one of the primary invasion routes from the Alps into Italy. A trip to Ivrea is a trip both to the past and future of Italy. One is able to visit buildings from the Romanesque and gothic periods, as well as modern architectural marvels. This trip includes visits to other major Italian cities, and within each city, a visit to criminal justice and law enforcement related facilities. You will not only be exposed to the modern developments in Italian law enforcement, but also to the Roman roots of criminal justice.
