International Police Program

Poland 2004

Remarks on Poland 2004 by Bill Sala, Lieutenant, Memorial Village Police Department

The Polish police made everyone in the group feel especially welcome from day one, and the general Polish population was very hospitable. You will find that our life experiences "on the job" are not that different.  Additionally, you have the opportunity to learn a lot of Polish history; I think many of the similarities will surprise you.  The Polish National Police force is a fairly new entity, and all of the officers we had contact with had a very definite thirst for knowledge and yearned to hear about our experiences on this side of the world.  I think you will truly find that cops are cops all over the world; the chance to experience a cultural exchange of this nature will be worth much more than the effort you put into it.
