Module I is conducted on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station.
Texas A&M University, the first public institution of higher learning in Texas, opened its doors in 1876. It was established under the Morrill Act as a land-grant college emphasizing the agricultural and mechanical arts and developing leadership through the study of military strategy and tactics.
Texas A&M University has been one of the fastest growing universities in the nation during the past decade and now has an enrollment in excess of 43,000 students. Women were admitted in 1963 and now comprise nearly one-half of the undergraduate student body.
The program is conducted in the Center for Executive Development (CED) in the Wehner Building of the Texas A&M Campus. Texas A&M University is centrally located in College Station, Texas, approximately equidistant from three of the 10 largest cities in the United States (Houston, Dallas and San Antonio) and the state capital (Austin), is easily accessible by either car or air travel. College Station combines the best of small town warmth and hospitality with big-city convenience, making it a delightful place to visit.
The Center for Executive Development was established in 1953 and over the years has developed programs that are considered among the best in the country. The hallmark of all programs offered by the Center is the emphasis on discussion groups of five or six persons with the participants randomly selected from diverse backgrounds. cross-cultural learning opportunities and cross-pollination of ideas are limitless and greatly enhance the overall experience.
