Current training cycle: September 1, 2009 - August 31, 2011.
The Texas Police Chief Leadership Series is a 40 hour legislatively mandated management course for police chiefs in Texas. The program is specifically designed to assist police administrators in developing their leadership skills and to help them recognize those factors that impact the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies. Instructors consist of nationally recognized experts in each area of the curriculum to provide the highest caliber of instruction available.
LEMIT strives each year to provide an excellent executive training opportunity for its participants and this year will be no different. Like all agencies across the state of Texas, LEMIT must ensure its responsibilities are met within budget constraints. To do this, effective September 1, 2009, police chiefs and police administrators registering for TPCLS training will be responsible for paying for their own travel and lodging costs. LEMIT will no longer be able to fund the travel and lodging costs that in the past were associated with our training.
TPCLS is referred to as Chief’s Continuing Education because a chief must attend this training once during each training cycle. The training is conducted in Huntsville as well as regionally throughout the state to provide police administrators the opportunity to network with other police chiefs in their area as well as discuss regional issues.
This is the complete list of training opportunities for the current training cycle.
