The New Supervisor Course is specifically designed for law enforcement officers newly assigned—or soon to be appointed—to their first supervisory role. This comprehensive program prepares participants for the transition from peer to leader by emphasizing the roles and responsibilities of effective supervision, along with the values, ethics, and principles essential to leadership in law enforcement. The curriculum addresses key topics such as planning and organization, civil and criminal liability, cultural and civil rights awareness, and employee relations, while also developing strong communication and decision-making skills. Through practical instruction and discussion, new supervisors learn to manage personnel effectively, foster accountability, and navigate the challenges of leadership with professionalism and integrity. This course fulfills the training requirements outlined in House Bill 3211 for first-time law enforcement supervisors. (**This course is currently being rewritten due to mandated changes to course objectives by TCOLE.)
