This dynamic course is designed to equip law enforcement leaders with practical strategies and scripts to manage complex employee relations situations confidently and effectively. Participants will learn how to proactively address employee performance, conduct, and attendance issues in a manner that minimizes legal exposure while preserving morale and departmental credibility. Through interactive sessions, real-world scenarios, and proven techniques, leaders will gain the tools needed to manage sensitive situations such as discrimination complaints, disability accommodations, substance abuse, and disciplinary actions.
Instructor:
Michael J. Mirarchi is a nationally recognized expert in preventing employment-related lawsuits. With over 35 years of experience as a defense attorney and HR executive, he created Reset the Clock – Practical Employee Relations for Leaders, presented over 1,350 times to 34,000+ leaders across North America. His IADLEST-certified law enforcement version has been delivered to agencies and associations including FBINAA, IACP, LEMIT, and NSA. A member of the FBINAA Speakers Bureau, he is known for his practical, confidence-building approach to sensitive employee issues. Mike is a Speaker Hall of Fame inductee and recipient of the 2024 Dallas HR Lifetime Achievement Award. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a J.D. from Seton Hall University.

If the participant has already paid, he/she will be refunded half the cost of the registration fee if written notice of cancellation is received by the Program Coordinator no later than seven (7) business days prior to the program. No refunds are available after this date, but substitutions of attendees are permitted.
If no written cancellation is received and the participant does not attend the program, the participant or their agency will be required to pay 100% of the registration fee if the registration fee was not previously paid.
