  • Manage budgets, records, information and human resources for your agency

  • Improve community relations strategies for fire and life safety

  • Learn advanced fire prevention, inspection and education techniques

Who Should Attend:

  • Hold a certification as a fire inspector, fire investigator or public educator (Acceptable certifications include those through TCFP, IFSAC, Pro Board, SFFMA, ICC, or NFPA)
  • Completed TCOLE Course 3737, TCFP Fire Officer I and II, or hold bachelor's degrees in business or public administration or other approved fields of study

Course Hours:

Participants receive 40 hours of TCOLE credit per module

The Fire Executive Management Training Program (FEMT) is an advanced leadership course designed to prepare senior fire service professionals for the complex challenges of modern public safety administration. The program integrates theory and practice in advanced investigation, ethical leadership, and management behavior, emphasizing principled decision-making and accountability. Participants gain financial and strategic expertise through budget forecasting and strategic planning, while honing dynamic decision-making and high-performance culture development skills. The curriculum also strengthens self-awareness through leadership portfolio creation and leadership assessment style analysis. Additional instruction in fire marshal administrative duties, advanced media relations, and leadership in complex environments ensures graduates are equipped to lead with confidence, integrity, and operational excellence across all facets of fire service management.

Cancellation Policy:

If the participant has already paid, he/she will be refunded half the cost of the registration fee if written notice of cancellation is received by the Program Coordinator no later than fourteen (14) business days prior to the program. No refunds are available after this date, but substitutions of attendees are permitted.

If no written cancellation is received and the participant does not attend the program, the participant or their agency will be required to pay 100% of the registration fee if the registration fee was not previously paid.
